What?
The Leibniz Studio is a non-profit research platform. For those who are overwhelmed by result-oriented academia, we provide a Xanadu for you. If you enjoy solving complicated problems and fancy challenging obstacles, we are also here for you.
Communication is the foundation of all collaboration. Seminars between members and lectures from industry experts will be relaxing yet rigorous places for you to share and learn what you love. Currently, we are focusing on math, physics, economics, finance, computer science, biology, and many other STEM-related topics. Still, we always accept any reasonable proposal if you are interested in different themes.
Scientific literacy writing should not be left behind as we continue exploring science since inspiring others is as crucial as discovering a new universe. It is a brand new world when we think as if we don't know what we have learned. Sharing and teaching are one of the best ways to testify our knowledge.
Who?
Our studio gathers a group of enthusiastic learning aficionados to learn collaboratively. Members from China compose most of the team, but we are located worldwide. Scientific research experience is not a necessity, but an interest in it is. We will also invite experts from different areas to introduce their perspectives in the future. Moreover, investors could participate if studio members' potential intellectual property outcomes are profitable.
Why?
Accusing the education model of what we have missed in school is somewhat irresponsible. Learning spontaneously without a specific purpose would fulfill more than following the curriculum. Thus we are proposing an experimental entity filled with people with similar enthusiasm and capability in scientific research to provide another outlet for curiosity apart from a university education.
Finishing a course does not equip you with enough skills to solve relative problems. Hence starting by tackling a problem is a much more practical way of learning than hitting a specific book. Survival is an inevitable obstacle for most science pioneers, and understanding problem-solving is the very first step in feeding our stomachs. Therefore problem-oriented issues might be more emphasized than topic-oriented ones in our future discussion.
How?
Learning should be interest-driven and spontaneous. Any member could propose a problem or topic as they love to learn or share, and everyone else who shares similar interests can join the discussion and potentially form a small team. The team will have a spokesman to report team progress and summaries what has been learned and what will be discussed, which will be the gist of a scientific literacy essay.
Research is the next step after learning the foundation of a field. We encourage members to collaborate as a legal research team, exploring a virgin topic and publishing a paper from there potentially. Although the issues are restricted to theoretical ones currently, we will consider building on-location laboratories for those eager to get their hands wet.
Dipping hands into the industry is another focus of ours. Suppose you have a brilliant business idea, and you only need a dozen engineers, mathematicians, and finance analyzers. In that case, you are more than welcome to recruit members to join your project team. The studio will not be directly involved in any actual operating affairs, nor will it interfere with any intellectual property attribution related to the project. Serendipitous outcomes that are potentially profitable from a research team also inspire start-up project initiations. Ultimately, our goal is to construct a virtuous circle consisting of learning, researching, and industrializing, surviving as a science people elegantly instead of subsisting as a research labor.
